In the past months TVB, ATV, CTI and nowTV have been launching a chain of attacks over the HK free-to-air license issue. Yesterday while TVB was holding their Anniversary Awards 2012 press conference, CTI held the A TV Station Born, A New Station Name - Program Presentation (basically the sales presentation) at a hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The CTI 'devil' Ricky Wong led 188 artists - Felix Wong, Dominic Lam, Maggie Cheung, Ha Yu, Liu Kai Chi, Bernice Liu, Frankie Lam, Prudence Liew, Sam Lee, Kelvin Kwan, Leila Tong, Rose Chan, Nina Paw, etc. - for this 'show hand' event. To counter, TVB quickly summoned their 60 well-known artists on short notice to participate in the TVB Anniversary Awards 2012 press conference. However because the majority of CTI artists lacked the fame, it can only be said they were the winners in having more 'troops', but lost the 'momentum'. It was also announced CTI's new TV station is named "Hong Kong Television Network Limited" (HKTV).

Last night, aside from the large number of artists, the event was filled with the 'smell of gunpowder'. Felix, Maggie, Yu Mo Lin and Ricky Wong were all bashing TVB! When Felix did his stand-up comedy performance, he said if the government doesn't issue the free-to-air TV license, he will march up to the government headquarters and protest by engorgement: "Revolution requires sacrifice. Even if there is one less of me, there are still a few hundred more backstage supporting him!" Then there were three dancers with Ricky Wong masks dancing and performing sword play in attempt to boost the atmosphere.

The real Ricky stole the limelight in his touching speech: "This path (in the TV industry) is really not a relaxing one. 1068 days, each and every step had been very difficult. This kind of bitterness and stress isn't what outsiders see. I've been in the business world for over 20 years, and have never thought of all the madness and drama I have to go through on a daily basis. I have no shame....really feel frustrated, why is HK superiority declining more and more? So, that is the reason why I want to broaden the HK television industry! Some say the people I want all come from one company (TVB). Yes! If not, then people wouldn't be scolding me. They used to be in a zoo, but now they're in a large forest. In the past, they were just strolling, but now they're running. My fortune really does say, 'Unlimited creativity, serious productions'!" Last night, the trailers of 13 series were shown, some were bloody and erotic. In one trailer, Wilfred Lau was seen kissing another actor; Bernice Liu licked William So.

During the interview, Ricky spoke about the competition with TVB, he laughed: "Good thing! There will only be improvement when there's competition. (TVB is pursing attacks on you?) This industry needs a push." Ricky expressed he hopes to get the free-to-air TV license in March 2013 and he has never heard any of his artists having the intention to return to TVB. As for ATV's executive accusing him of getting a hold of ATV's secrets. Ricky expressed: "I will not comment on such madness and drama. They can say whatever they want, I will not comment further!"

Maggie Cheung is now CTI's "First Sister", whens speaking of Virgina Lok's "love coming home" comment, Maggie was quite surprised when she heard this. She said: "I'm not sure, don't know how to answer. (Will you go back to TVB?) For now, I enjoy the new work environment, very happy. I have 8 hours of sleep and the [series] themes are daring. (Has TVB approached you?) Not at the moment. (If they do?) For now, I will not accept jobs from this company. (CTI hasn't even officially open yet!) This is an issue to all HK citizens. There will be improvement when there's competition. (ATV said there won't be new licenses until after 2015?) Cannot believe that, I have confidence we will get the license."
