Actor Louis Koo recently expressed his frustration with the box office theft that has been plaguing the mainland theatres and affecting his new movie.

According to Asianpopnews website, while speaking to the media at the Hong Kong premiere of Johnnie To's new movie, "Drug War" on 9 April, the actor expressed his concern about the issue and hopes that it would not affect the movie's sales too much.

Recently, a Chinese netizen wrote a feedback saying that he had bought a ticket to watch "Drug War", but upon purchase, found his ticket printed with the name of another mainland movie, "The Chef, The Actor, The Scoundrel". As every ticket accounts for the box office sales, the "theft" of the box office will cause losses for "Drug War".

To this, Louis exclaimed, "If I see the box office thief, I will beat him up! We are already investigating the matter. I heard about box office thefts before and this time, I am the victim."

He continued, "Please report it if you discover any box office theft. We work very hard to film a movie and hope that everyone can respect our job."

However, box office theft or not, "Drug War" was still able to rake in over RMB100 million of box office sales within 10 days in China and earned rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.

Louis was also praised for his performance as a drug lord in the movie, with critics saying that it is by far his best represented film.
