Once hailed as “the golden onscreen couple”, Bobby Au-Yeung and Esther Kwan will finally reunite in an upcoming drama series, Love Reverses Three Lifetimes of Fate after almost 13 years.
Well-loved by TV audiences for their outstanding performance in popular Hong Kong TVB series, Armed Reaction, rumour has it that the former golden onscreen couple has lost their chemistry and are unhappy with each other’s filming habits.
According to the tabloids, they ignored each other and only interacted during filming. Bobby allegedly accused his co-star of playing diva for often arriving late on set and delaying filming as a result of it.
The veteran actor reportedly lost his patience while waiting for her and vented his frustration to the production crew, “I should have arrive at a later time too!”
In addition, It’s believed that TVB’s management gave Esther the complete freedom to amend her contract for her upcoming drama. Shw listed a few conditions which include “at least eight hours of rest daily”, “being the only female lead”, and asked for the production crew to accommodate her scheduleto better take care of her daughter.
On the other hand, the 48-year-old actress was unhappy with Bobby’s tendencies to change his lines at whim, thus delaying her dismissal time to spend time with family.
Bobby dismissed such rumours and clarified, “These are fabricated news. We’re still good partners. (Is Esther playing diva?) She does not need to play diva. She is already a diva.”
