Inbound Troubles producer Wong Wai Sing expressed the story came from a real life case, but he hopes the audience will just finish watching the whole scene before discussing. When asked if Wong Cho Lam created his own lines? He expressed: "He was part of the production team, the 'harmony…' catchphrase is not to beautify China people. Shouldn't people from China and Hong Kong be in harmony anyway?"
Wong Cho Lam was on CRHK for a radio interview. In regards to the recent complaints, he expressed: "While the series was in production, it was all copy without thinking, the content includes what Netizens' comments and what was written on the news. The dialogue all came from what everyone had said before. As for insulting HK people, that depends on how you see it. If you watch attentively, it is pretty funny, like you're insulting yourself. It's unfavorable on both sides. (Will this affect your work in Mainland?) Not at the moment, the majority are rational. This time, the news I chose were the really popular ones in Mainland and the ones with intercommunication between Hong Kong and China. For example, the D&G tourist incident, everyone knows what happened there. (If there are more negative feedback, will the scenes be cut?) No, the series starts off using the China-HK hot topics, then Ivana Wong and her cousins get into a fight and next week Wong Kwong Leung will come to HK. Soon there will be more comedic scenes."
