International superstar Jet Li and his charity foundation will lend their assistance towards the reconstruction efforts post-earthquake in Burma.
As reported on Irrawady, Jet Li's charity organisation, One Foundation, will help rebuild three schools destroyed by the earthquake that occurred last month, although the charity has yet to make an official confirmation.
According to its Director-General, Jiang Yili, "We're still discussing exactly how we're going to provide support, but we hope to help those children effectively."
Jiang continued, "The One Foundation is a charity organisation, and we have a meticulous process. We're still going through the paperwork at the moment, but will continue to put the projects forward."
It was earlier reported that One Foundation will focus on helping the reconstruction of schools that were seriously damaged. The schools will likely be in the township of Thabeikkyin in Mandalay Division, as well as in Shwebo and Kyauk Myaung in Sagaing Divison.
Meanwhile, action star Jet Li is rumoured to be attending a ceremony after the rebuilding efforts.
On 11 November, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake killed at least 11 people in central Burma. About 70 people were injured and more than a thousand people lost their homes.
