Former Miss Hong Kong 2007's first runner-up, Grace Wong, made a splash in Hong Kong media when she revealed that she was still a virgin, and now the actress followed it up by revealing that she used to have bulimia and depression.

According to Jayne Stars, her illness came about during her period of acting slum, when she was heavily criticized for her exaggerated performance and shrill voice on the fifth season of TVB's food program, "Gourmet Secret Agent". It was even reported that Grace was benched by TVB after her hosting stint on Gourmet Secret Agent.

At the same time, Grace's relationship with her father was not going too well. Her bad career results and family relationships led her into depression, which in turn, led to bulimia. She quickly went from 112 pounds to 130 pounds.

A close friend revealed, "After competing in the 2007 Miss Hong Kong pageant, the media often referred to her as the 'Pork Chop Miss Hong Kong.' In order to keep fit, she had once tried eating nothing except drinking two glasses of milk a day."

The insider added, "After Gourmet Secret Agent came out, she became depressed and bulimic. After filming another food program with Sarah Song, there were rumours saying that she and Sarah did not get along. It worsened her depression and bulimia."

Grace confirmed that she had once suffered from depression and bulimia for three months, and thanked MC Jin and Zac Kao for bringing her back to health.

"My depression and bulimia were not improving, so one day, Zac Kao called me and told me to visit a Bible study class. I said yes, and it was then when I met MC Jin. It was then when I realized that religion can really change someone's heart. I stopped having pessimistic thoughts, and my conditions improved after visiting a doctor."

Grace stated that she still tends to binge eat when she feels down, but now she can turn to God for help.
