Kate Tsui may have sworn off law enforcement roles after playing too many police roles in dramas, but changed her mind when given the same role in TVB drama, "Sniper Standoff" (initially titled "Sniper Attack 2013").
As reported on Jayne Stars website, the 33-year-old actress, who stars as the hot-blooded Sheung Koon Ming Chu, an inspector of Hong Kong's Organised Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB), revealed that although she has played cops for a total of seven times in the span of her career, it was the first time for her to portray a member of the OCTB unit.
"She's crazy!" exclaimed Kate Tsui on her role as Inspector Sheung Koon, and continued, "The role is unique and exceeds my expectation. She is both hot-blooded and competent. She will sometimes get too tied down to a case and will jump to the front lines like the rest of her SDU colleagues."
The former Miss Hong Kong also explained that the character is multi-dimensional, saying, "The first half of the drama shows the character's courageous and tough exterior, but in the second half, there will be a very emotional father-daughter story, a very big change from the beginning!"
"This role is actually very interesting; she used to see her career as the most important thing, but after the death of her father, she will learn to understand the importance of family and friends."
The actress did not request for a stunt double to help her in the action sequences, stating that she enjoyed the fighting scenes.
