"Life would be different if Teresa Mo had married me," Leslie Cheung once said. The actor, who briefly dated the actress after meeting each other in the late 1970s through a music program for Rediffusion Television, once revealed that he so very much in love with her that he proposed, but was turned down by Teresa.

According to Popular Asians website, while reminiscing about the old days and her relationship with Leslie, Teresa dislcosed, "I did date him, but it just felt like two young people being happy together."

Teresa added, "He was rather clingy, and hung around me all the time. I thought he was a very cute boy who was really kind to me, but I didn't think about him all the time. Can that be considered a type of love?"

The actress admitted that while she was very happy in the relationship, she would not have married Leslie.

The relationship ended shortly after the proposal. Although the couple briefly lost touch, they became friends again when they were reunited as arguing partners in Raymond Wong's "All's Well, Ends Well" (1992).

Teresa eventually married director Tony Au and immigrated to Canada, while Leslie began his relationship with partner, Daffy Tong.
