Retired Hong Kong actress Cherie Chung is reportedly in a May-December relationship with a managing director of a fashion brand.
According to the Hong Kong media, the 53-year-old has been keeping a low profile since her retirement from showbiz in the early 90s. Since her husband's death from colorectal cancer in 2007, the widow has been living alone. After recovering from her loss, Cherie revealed that her wish to find a new partner at an event in October last year, and does not mind starting a new romance.
Two days ago, Cherie was spotted dating a man in his mid-40s. It was said that the man, named Donald, is managing director of a fashion brand in Hong Kong. The two enjoyed a romantic dinner and sat at a quiet corner of the restaurant to avoid being disturbed by others.
After finishing their meal at 9pm, the pair proceeded to a florist opposite the restaurant. Evidently in a good mood, Cherie was seen hopping around the shop like an excited little girl and chatting happily with Donald while selecting flowers.
When they discovered the presence of the paparazzi, Donald immediately left the shop while Cherie paid for the flowers at the cashier.
Cherie replied with a shy smile when asked if she was having dinner with a friend. She then said, 'We are scared of you,' when reporters quizzed her on Donald's exit from the store.
