A new rumour has surfaced regarding Fala Chen's decision to end her TVB contract, stating that the actress may be joining mainland film production company Huayi Brothers.
Popular Asians reported that a source recently revealed that the "Will Power" actress is following in the footsteps of ex-TVB actresses Charmaine Sheh and Bernice Liu of pursuing a profitable television career in mainland China.
An insider disclosed, "Fala doesn't want to live off her boyfriend's money, and she still has a market in mainland China. When news broke out that she ended her contract with TVB, many mainland Chinese companies are looking forward to sign her."
It was also revealed that the actress has already met with a Huayi Brothers executive to negotiate contract details earlier, and that the actress is very close to signing the deal.
Meanwhile, sources also disclosed that Fala's boyfriend, Neway prince Daniel Sit was the one who triggered her decision, after he expressed his dissatisfaction at TVB for giving Fala long working hours with low pay.
The source stated, "Fala hasn't had a good day of rest in the last few years, and she barely has any time for Daniel. In addition to the low pay, Fala and Daniel decided that it was not worth it to continue the relationship with TVB. However, thinking that she owes TVB for her success, Fala is currently weighing on signing a per-series contract with TVB, for HKD 40,000 per episode."
