After the damaging report made against Gallen Lo, the actor has recently revealed that his legal representative has sent a letter to the said news source, Next Magazine.
According to TVB News World, on 8 May, the magazine published a report stating that the actor did not fulfil his responsibility as an eldest son in preparing for his father's funeral due to the birth of his daughter, letting his ex-wife Clare Fong to manage everything instead.
However, when Clare defended her ex-husband and revealed that Gallen has been a filial son from day one, the magazine reported that Gallen bribed Clare with HKD 8,000 to be nice to his new wife, mainland actress Sophie Su.
Stating that the report is severely fabricated and constitutes libel, the actor recently revealed that his lawyer has sent a letter to the magazine, whereby the magazine is given three days to submit a written apology and compensate for damaging his reputation and the financial loss that came with it.
Meanwhile, Gallen's ex-wife Clare responded to the bribe rumour and dismissed, "That is such an exaggeration. There is no way you can get me to do something I'm not comfortable with for HKD 8,000. I can easily make that money from working. It's not like I don't have enough to survive."
She admitted having dinner with Gallen and his new wife but denied there was awkwardness between them, saying, "Gallen and I have been divorced for so many years, and I have already moved on. It's not that big of a deal, we are still friends. Also, our son really looks up to him. We can't sever our relationship completely because that won't be good for our son."
