Hong Kong film industry is growing in strength as its production quantity and overall box office continue to climb. According to the Hong Kong Motion Picture Industry Association's 2012 Hong Kong film market summation, the 2012 total box office exceeded HK$1.55 billion, a rise of 11.75% from 2011's 1.39 billion.

The Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Tony Leung Ka Fai starred COLD WAR (HONG JIN) with 42.68 million was last year's highest grossing Hong Kong film. The film is still in release.
