Rumours of Faye Wong recording a song for Zhao Wei's "So Young" have been confirmed to be true after the Chinese diva uploaded a photo of her in the recording studio on Weibo on 27 March.

As reported on Jayne Stars website, Taiwanese actress-turned-director Zhao Wei earlier revealed that she had asked good friend, Faye Wong, to record a song for her directorial debut, "So Young".

Hours after Faye uploaded the recording studio photo, Zhao Wei confirmed the rumour on her Weibo and stated, "Allow Faye to let everyone know what a youthful song really sounds like! This is for all the unique people out there!"

Composed by the critically acclaimed mainland Chinese composer Dou Peng of "Suzhou River" and "Thousand Year Love" fame, the song was also penned by "So Young" screenwriter, Li Qiang who volunteered to write the lyrics himself.

Since Faye Wong last released her studio album nearly ten years ago and has been living in low profile these last few years, it was speculated that Zhao Wei must have offered the singer a big pay for her comeback.

However, an insider disclosed, "Faye is not interested in the money. She only came back to help out a good friend."

Meanwhile, "So Young", starring Mark Chao, Han Geng, Yang Zishan and Maggie Jiang will be released on 26 April.
