Veteran actor Kong Ngai passed away of lung cancer on March 13th. He was 81. Kong has participated in many TVB series in his lifetime such as The Greed of Man, Instinct, Cold Blood Warm Heart, Legend of the Condor Heroes (Hu Ge, Li Yapeng and Felix Wong versions) and Return of the Condor Heroes (Louis Koo, Andy Lau and Mainland versions). Yesterday his family held a Buddhist memorial service for him in Hung Hom. Kong's niece disclosed the service was done according to his wishes. Asked if Kong had left any wishes behind? She said: "Nope! He made all the arrangements himself beforehand and his family has already recovered emotionally. (What was buried with him?) Buddhist books and beads. The Soka Gakkai International of Hong Kong gave him an honorary too for his contributions to the Buddhist community. His remains were cremated." Many celebrates sent flower baskets to him including Louis Koo, Sean Lau, Damian Lau, Adam Cheng, Liza Wang and Law Kar Ying.
Later in the evening, Film King Anthony Wong offered his condolence, but just stayed for a minute. He revealed he had known Kong Ngai for many years, "He taught me a lot. We chatted before, but didn't know he was sick." Director Johnnie To expressed he collaborated with Kong many times and praised how strict he was, he often scolded people, just like he does.
