Hong Kong star Louis Koo and Taiwanese actress Joe Chen have been making headlines recently with their alleged secret romance.
It was previously reported that the couple dated in secret for over a year in 2011 and broke up because of alleged third party Michelle Chen.
However, later reports claimed that the couple dated in secret for two years and broke up because the pair was too occupied with their work to sustain the long-distance relationship.
According to the Hong Kong media, the pair's relationship was an open secret among their friends in the showbiz and Joe was invited to Louis' birthday party two years ago. Insiders revealed that Louis even saw Joe as a potential marriage partner.
Joe also reportedly visited her boyfriend on set while he was filming the movie Inferno 3D in Thailand last year.
Whenever Joe visited Louis in Hong Kong, she would also bring him to meet the famous author Jin Yong, and his wife, who always treats Joe like their own daughter.
However, the couple reportedly drifted apart as they were often separated due to their work. Problems in their relationship started surfacing from the Lunar New Year this year. The pair then went into a "cold war" for a period of time and eventually broke up.
Joe was then filming the Chinese drama Swordsman with her rumoured ex-lover Wallace Huo, and the latter even asked for a reconciliation after knowing about her breakup with Louis, but was rejected by her.
Reporters probed Louis about his relationship with Joe when he showed up at an event last Saturday, but the 42-year-old declined to comment on the matter.
