Hong Kong actress Cherrie Ying announced her baby's gender at a promotional event yesterday. Though she is overjoyed to be expecting a baby boy, she expressed her wish to try for a daughter in the near future. Cherrie, who is currently four-months pregnant, has yet to decide on a name for her first child with singer-actor Jordan Chen.
Sharing that she thought of naming the baby 'Chen Da Chun' or 'Chen Chun', which are derived from her husband's Chinese name 'Chen Xiao Chun', the mum-to-be mentioned that the physiognomist advised against it as people with the character 'Chun' (which means '˜spring' in Chinese) in their names 'often get beaten up'.
Nevertheless, she let on that she has personally picked an English name for the boy and she hopes to keep it as a secret for now.
Due to the hormonal changes during pregnancy, Cherrie admitted that she has been extremely irritable over the past few months and Jordan now treats her like a queen. The actress has also stopped smoking for the baby's sake while her husband avoids smoking and drinking in front of her.
When asked if she plans to deliver the baby naturally, Cherrie said she will choose the 'more relaxed' option and that she would not force herself to breastfeed. The actress is set to return to work after giving birth.
