The Hong Kong actress is rumoured to have set aside a room in her house for prayers
Rumour has it that Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung has been keeping '˜ghost child' to boost her luck, even before she joined the entertainment industry 15 years ago. The 32-year-old is believed to be a staunch follower of Thai Buddhism as she was seen wearing an amulet that belonged to the Phra Somdej, which is one of the five most ancient Buddhas in Thailand, when she separated from ex-husband Nicholas Tse in 2011.
After her high profile divorce, Cecilia was often spotted travelling to Thailand with her two sons, Lucas and Quintus. Recent reports claimed that the purpose of her frequent trips was not for holiday, but to '˜strengthen' her Thai Buddha amulet.
Sources revealed that the actress first got a '˜ghost child' to seek blessing in love. When her marriage with Nicholas was on the rocks, Cecilia personally travelled to Thailand to bring another two home and subsequently added a fourth to the brood last year.
According to the source, Cecilia initially gave offerings to her '˜ghost child' at a small corner in the house. To seek better fortunes following her broken marriage, she engaged the help of a reverend to set up an altar in a prayer room specially locked away from her two boys.
