With baby formula sales under control and the housing market cooling off, the new craze these days seem to be for concert tickets. This time everyone will be fighting for tickets to see Mayday and Eason Chan perform at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Both parties will be holding a ticket pre-sale for credit card users starting next Monday. With their immense popularity, they will likely cause major jams on the phone lines.

Eason will be holding 12 shows at the Coliseum. His most expensive tickets will be selling for $680, which is the same as last year. The ticket prices seem pretty reasonable for a singer of his calibre. However, Mayday's most expensive tickets went from $780 last year to $980 this year, which is a 25% increase. Regardless of the amount, their die hard fans will likely order tickets without even checking the prices. With so many Mainland fans trying to snatch tickets, it's definitely a bigger catch than baby formula!

Even though Eason and Mayday's concert tickets have not officially gone on sale, since both of them are releasing pre-sales on the same day (18th), fans will have to call in separately for tickets. Eason will be holding 12 shows during his concert run. His organizers are not worried about his ticket sales, because around six months ago, there were already reservations made on his concert tickets. Currently his reservations have already exceeded the limit. He never imagined his tickets would be more popular than baby formula! Concert tickets in Hong Kong are cheaper than in China, so even if Mainland fans end up buying tickets from scalpers, they are still willing to travel to Hong Kong for the show. Also, since his ticket prices are the same as last year when he performed at AsiaWorld-Expo, many believe it's a reasonable price to pay.

The most expensive tickets for Mayday went from $780 last year to $980 this year, which is a 25% increase. With the exception of G.E.M, who's VIP tickets cost $1280 but includes backstage access, Mayday's concert tickets are the most expensive out of all Hong Kong and Taiwanese artists. However their die hard fans will likely pre-order the tickets without even checking the prices. Their internal reservations have gone through the roof. There are already people in online forums who have stated they will add $100 as a service fee [for ticket resell]. With many Mainland fans as well, there will be stiff competition for tickets to both concerts.
