With the internet buzzing with rumours about Yoyo Mung's impending departure from TVB and the controversy surrounding her promotional activity for new drama "A Great Way to Care II", husband Ekin Cheng was compelled to speak up in her defence.

As reported on Groove Asia website, it was rumoured that her contract with TVB is expiring at the end of the month. The actress was also reportedly offered top dollar to join rival station HKTV, resulting in TVB allegedly cancelling her promotional appearances for the upcoming drama.

At an event that was held on 12 March, the actor was asked regarding the rumour surrounding Yoyo Mung's status in TVB. Ekin dismissed the rumour, stating, "TVB is an organisation, so it wouldn't be so petty," but added, "However, I can't be sure about the personnel in charge of the station's internal operations."€

The 45-year-old continued, "I find it strange that Yoyo's work is being cancelled while the company is negotiating her contract renewal. How do you expect people to renew their contract in this way?"

Meanwhile, Ekin also clarified that Yoyo's crossover to HKTV is only a rumour, stating, "Offers from both sides are favourable. However, Yoyo's eventual decision will depend on the results of her manager's discussions with the two companies."

In related news, the actor is currently busy promoting his new movie, "Saving General Yang".
