Rumour has it that film producer, director cum actor, Raymond Wong is frustrated with the unnecessary publicity that is revolving around his protégé Karena Ng's private life.
According to Jayne Stars website, the film producer – who introduced Karena to the film industry, is allegedly disappointed at Karena's publicised relationship with actor-singer Raymond Lam, and has now diverted the company's resources to promote their upcoming star, 22-year-old newcomer, Janelle Sing.
It was also rumoured that although Raymond Lam and Karena Ng's upcoming horror film, "Baby Blues 3D" is slated for a July release, the producer has decided to exclude the actress from the movie's promotions and reduced her screen time in the film.
When asked whether the rumour is true, Raymond Wong only stated, "There is still some time left, and we are still arranging the film's promotions."
Meanwhile, a source disclosed that the "Hotel Deluxe" actor would not consider casting Karena in his upcoming period mystery film, "Wesley", an adaptation of the best-selling detective series written by of Ni Kuang.
Asked if he avoided casting Karena due to Raymond Lam's participation in the film, he simply said, "Everything is in its initial stages. We still don't know what story we're going to do yet."
Raymond Wong was impressed by Karena's talent when she starred alongside him in the fantasy film, "Magic to Win" at age 17 in 2011. The producer then convinced Karena's modelling agency, Starz People, to jointly manage her career with his company, Pegasus Motion Pictures.
Meanwhile, Karena is currently co-managed by mainland China's EE-Media and Starlit Artist Management, a company established by Raymond Wong's son, Edmond Wong.
