TVB veteran star Christine Ng has been in the acting business for two decades now, but revealed that she is still nervous about being a part of the highly-anticipated palace drama, "Beauty At War".

According to Jayne Stars website, while speaking to the media at the promotional event for the "War and Beauty" sequel, Christine disclosed that she was so interested to play a role in the drama that she went to see TVB executive producer, Catherine Tsang, herself when news of a sequel spread around.

The 44-year-old actress said, "I've wanted to take part in this series ever since watching 2004's "War and Beauty". I knew that the producer was still looking for a cast [for the sequel], so I went to see Catherine myself."

She continued, "Catherine was surprised when I told her that I didn't mind getting the rookie treatment and do camera tests for the producer. Luckily, screenwriter Chow Yuk Ming decided that I could portray Consort Dowager Shun, so Jonathan Chik decided to give me a shot."

In "Beauty at War", Christine takes on the main villain role as Consort Yu's envious younger sister, Consort Dowager Shun. Jealous at how her sister became the emperor's favoured concubine, Shun purposely spread fake rumours of Yu to tarnish her image. Shun's actions become the driving force of the main plot.

Meanwhile, Christine is also joined by 39 year-old actress Ada Choi, who was originally considered for the lead role in the original drama.

Asked if she regret turning down "War and Beauty" nine years ago, Ada stated that she had to turn it down due to conflicting schedules, but is happy that she was given the chance to participate in the sequel.
