Despite various criticisms over his plans earlier, it was reported that action superstar Jackie Chan will be donating the four Hui-style ancient buildings to a Singapore university after all.

As reported on People Daily, the versatile star reaffirmed his plan during an interview with China Central Television on 12 May, stating that he will donate the four old buildings to the Singapore University of Technology and Design.

However, the actor added that he also planned to donate other properties of historic value to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

In his Weibo, Jackie stated, "I bought 10 old houses from Anhui province for my parents about 20 years. But the houses fell into disrepair and had termites after my parents passed away."

He revealed that the local governments in Anhui and Zhejiang provinces also requested for him to donate the houses.

However, he refused to do so at first for fear that the government will focus on real estate development rather than their protection.

In April, the actor was blasted for expressing his wish to donate the buildings to the university, with netizens stating that his patriotic image has been tarnished.
