"Beauty at War", the highly-anticipated sequel to TVB's "War and Beauty" has been receiving poor ratings ever since its premiere due to its allegedly confusing storyline – an opinion that was agreed by lead actress, Sheren Tang.

Popular Asians website reported that while speaking to the media on 1 May, Sheren expressed her disappointments at the drama's low ratings, saying that she had expected a better result during its premiere.

However, the actress said she was not surprised that audiences found the plot confusing, and urged fans to be patient and take their time to fully understand the story.

Sheren exclaimed, "Of course they are confused! If Jonathan Chik and Chow Yuk Ming's series are easy to understand, their styles must have changed. Both of them produce niche works. You must let it 'stew' slowly and watch patiently."

The actress added, "TV series should come in different varieties, and viewers are free to choose what appeals to them the most."

Sheren added that "Beauty at War" is still paving the path to the bigger story, and that there will be even more complex developments down the road.

The actress also admitted that she found it confusing as well at first, stating, "Of course I didn't understand it, I had no script! If they had given me the script a little earlier, I would have had more time to research and understand the story better."
