Raymond Lam had earlier been reported to be splurging on his young girlfriend in Milan, spending thousands on luxury designer goods and giving Karena Ng his American Express Centurion Card (also known as "black card") in order to show his love for her.
However, Jayne Stars website recently revealed that not all of the reports are true.
While speaking to the media at a promotional event in Hong Kong on 6 March, the actor dismissed the rumour about giving Karena his black card, stating, "Don't be so old-fashioned. What generation are we in? I have never even seen this card myself."
Asked if he did spent HKD1.8 million on designer handbags for his girlfriend, Raymond answered, "There's no need to share these personal matters. And this is insignificant. I also bought many things for my family."
The actor also expressed his disappointment that photos of their activities during their Milan flight were published by tabloids and was painted as indecent behaviour on an airplane.
The actor expressed, "It's very sad. It was a very sweet trip. I went over to cover Karena with a blanket and give her a goodnight kiss and asked if she wanted to eat. The story became twisted in the published news. We were behaving normally, but the news wrote it and described [in such a manner]."
Meanwhile, when asked about her designer goods shopping spree, Karena responded that she had paid for everything with her own credit card while on vacation, and stressed, "There is no such thing. I will not allow him to pay for the bills. I paid for all the bills myself."
