Being a newcomer in TVB doesn't mean that you will get it easy, as experienced by 2012 Miss Hong Kong third place winner-turned-actress, Tracy Chu.
As reported on Jayne Stars website, the newbie, who will be making her drama debut in "The Hippocratic Crush 2" has been scolded numerous times by the director and had a dozen outtakes due to her lack of experience and poor performance.
Cast as Lawrence Ng's new love interest, Tracy admitted her anxiousness prior to filming, and stated, "I'm very excited but also very nervous to act alongside Tavia Yeung, Kenneth Ma and Lawrence Ng. I'm worried that I'll be too stiff and not be able to speak my lines smoothly enough."
And true to her own words, her worries manifested itself on set, as she was not able to complete a scene to the director's satisfaction. Although the director had demonstrated what to do before the cameras rolled, Tracy still had more than a dozen outtakes.
Trying to ease her anxiety, Lawrence rehearsed his lines with Tracy during their break time and diplomatically praised Tracy. However, the actress may be feeling too much pressure in her first starring role.
Tracy Chu's rise to popularity began in the 2012 Miss Hong Kong pageant, when she won over more viewers than title holder, Carat Chung. The 24-year-old had also won the favour of TVB executive management, as Virginia Lok and Nat Chan have been praising and grooming her to be the next TVB heroine.
But judging by her current performance, it looks like there is still a long way to go in her road to success.
