Steven Ma recently expressed his disappointment at not being able to work with good friend Bobby Au Yeung in his comeback drama, "Property Protector".

Groove Asia website reported that earlier, Steven had selected Bobby Au Yeung and Tavia Yeung to work with him in his first TVB drama after a long hiatus – an opportunity that was given by TVB executive, Catherine Tsang. However, with Bobby's recent health problem, he has decided to take a break after the conclusion of his drama, "Always and Ever".

With Bobby's departure, actor Evergreen Mak will take his place instead – a decision that frustrated Steven very much.

Steven said, "From the first moment, I thought I was going to be able to work with Bobby! The last time we collaborated was over ten years ago, in "File of Justice", and I was very young at that time."

Asked if he think Evergreen is not good enough, Steven stated, "Evergreen and I are good brothers, but that's another topic. Working with him onscreen lacks a fresh feeling."

Meanwhile, Evergreen was very accepting of Steven's reaction, stating, "I know Steven wants to work with Bobby, so it is quite disappointing. He is a senior and I'm just a guy who stands and walks around."

An insider revealed, "Steven wanted someone with strong acting abilities to take on the role so that the drama could be a big hit. He tried contacting Wayne Lai, but he is way too busy. No wonder he is disappointed and has threatened to not sign the contract."
