After suffering a drop in stock market shares due to the less-than-expected box office results of their Feng Xiaogang movie, "Back to 1942", popular production company, Huayi Brothers can now breathe a sigh of relief with the success of Stephen Chow's "Journey to the West".

As reported on Jayne Stars website, the Stephen Chow's Chinese New Year flick grossed a phenomenal RMB640 million on its opening day on 10 February and continued to collect a total of RMB1.22 billion on Valentine's Day, surpassing the record set by "Transformers: Dark of the Moon", and is expected to continue on increasing its box office sales.

Meanwhile, the movie reached HKD22 million in Hong Kong. Despite failing to rival Bruce Willis' "A Good Day to Die Hard" that grossed HKD24.73 million, it was able to overcome its competition at the opening day box office.

The success of "Journey to the West" reportedly has brought life back to Huayi Brothers, saving it from its decline after the company suffered a decrease of 10 percent in its stock market value in November last year.

It was revealed that the release of the Stephen Chow movie has brought up Huayi Brothers' stock by 25 percent.
