Real life couple, Hawick Lau and Yang Mi will play lovers in a new drama adaptation of the romance novel, "Sheng Xia Wan Qing Tian".
Jayne Stars website reported that the drama, produced by Hawick Lau himself and directed by former TVB director Mak Kun Chi, tells the story of Xia Wanqing (Yang Mi), the daughter of the Chairman of Hua Xia Holdings, a real estate company. After she was betrayed by her best friend and former boyfriend, she meets playboy Qiao Jinfan (Hawick Lau), who turns her life around.
First-time producer Hawick reportedly invested a hefty budget to produce "Sheng Xia Wan Qing Tian", including the employment of well-known fashion designers such as Simon Gao and the team behind Harper's Bazaar China to design the show's costume wardrobe.
The budget also comprises iconic sceneries, with filming locations set in Beijing, Qingdao, and Paris.
The drama stars Jarvis Wu, Wang Xiao, Liang Yu Lin, Louis Fan, and Li Fangding and is expected to run for 46 episodes.
